Azerbaijan realigning its education system

Baku, Azerbaijan, is hosting a regional conference for the Innovative Strategies for Supporting Transition to a 12–Year Education System forum. It is co-organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Education and will be introducing best practices on the K-12 transitions. As one of the key-note speakers, ECF's Director of Global Operations Elise Tarvainen will be presenting the key elements of the Finnish education model.

International education planners, experts, and policy makers are gathering in Baku, Azerbaijan, for the Innovative Strategies for Supporting Transition to a 12–Year Education System forum, a regional conference co-organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Education to discuss the country’s shift to the K-12 education system.

The Government of Azerbaijan plans to realign its education system with international standards by enhancing the quality of skilled workers and facilitating access to all levels of education. One of the pillars of the country’s National Development Strategy 2020 is the extension of primary and secondary education to 12 school years, making student attendance obligatory until age 16. In the conference, good practices on K-12 transition will be shared. As one of the key-note speakers, EduCluster Finland's Director of Global Operations Elise Tarvainen will be presenting the key elements of the Finnish education model.

University of Jyväskylä among the best of the world

Four disciplines of the University of Jyväskylä ranked among the world’s best in the QS World University Rankings by Subject: research in education was ranked 51-100, same as last year. Delightfully, new disciplines climbed on the list. Physics was ranked 201–250, languages 251–300 and mathematics 301–350. In total 3,500 universities were evaluated in the ranking. Read more

Graduation Ceremony for the University PD Programme
