Next Generation of the future leaders

Training programme

Rapidly changing business environment calls for efficient ways of reacting. One of the best resources for taking in the new entrepreneurial culture is the next generation. By training the future leaders to handle the change and to find more creative and innovative solutions for reacting to it, it’s possible to turn the inevitable change as one of the competitive factors in the tomorrow’s economy.

Structure

Next Generation –training programme has been planned for three different target groups that represent the important nodal points in the developing business environment. We need educators, the persons educating our future teachers as well as teachers already working in the schools.  They are in the key role in shaping the basic attitude towards the entrepreneurial way of seeing possibilities in the changing world. We also need business support, the people helping out the future entrepreneurs to start up their businesses. This is extremely important phase to get all the innovative ideas and business possibilities in the reality. Thirdly, we need to take into an account the administrative level, which is crucial for raising this to the policy level importance.

Every team will have a local host organization that will support the participants in their learning processes and offers a soil for practical actions.

Participants

The participants will be selected from the different organizations according to the themes of the groups. Along with the title of the training, the participants are going to be picked among the younger generation. The groups will consist of 12 -20 participants per team, so as a whole the training programme creates an efficient network from 36 to 60 future leaders.

Baseline requirement of the participation is the ability to understand and speak English.

Duration and methods

Training process will be implemented through six contact meetings (á 2-3 days). Meetings are independent modules but the whole process is planned so that it creates the solid entity. Between the meetings participants will be in contact with their teams and produce personal development tasks. The programme includes also a one week learning trip to Finland. During the programme each participant will set a personal challenge to themselves which they will realise in their organization. Some meetings and tasks are joint for all teams for enhancing the dialogue between these target groups.

Training process is built on peer learning methods for creating the natural cooperation network which will act as an important resourse for the participants also after the training programme. Participants will have the New Generation -eLearning platform in use during the whole process for sharing the ideas and documents.

Benefits of the programme

Next Generation –training programme will train the future leaders to be as change agents within the region.

During the process the participants will be creating valuable skills for reacting to structural change. They develop innovative models for getting the best out from the prevailing operational environment. They also generate a route to shift the models into action and are part of the implementation itself. For the change process they will have the understanding and the ability to know how to handle the change with the people who will be affected by it.

The home organizations of the participants have the possibility to be a forerunner in testing new and innovative models for the future.

As a whole, the process leads to development of a prominent network of change agents for the more competitive, entrepreneurial culture within the region in changing world.
